Past.

Bridge Foster Ministry was formally incorporated in the winter of 2020 with the support of founding board members Isaac Hopkins and Tara Pish, the Pitt County Department of Social Services, and dedicated community partners. Their efforts were instrumental in establishing this ministry to serve and support foster children.

Founder Jennifer Teague, with her husband Lee Teague, were inspired by a “Love Luggage” presentation delivered at a Liberty University Convocation by a similar ministry in Georgia. They realized the need in their own community and determined to make it happen.

With the generous support of like-minded community members, Bridge donated its first backpacks to the Pitt County Department of Social Services in June 2020.

Bridge is committed to easing the transition into foster care for children of all ages.

We provide carefully assembled backpacks for children entering foster care, from infancy through age 18. Each backpack contains age-appropriate toiletries, a t-shirt, shorts, a comfort blanket, a Bible or children’s Bible storybook, and a name tag that the child can personalize and call their own.

Future.

Bridge is a community-based organization in Pitt County, North Carolina, dedicated to addressing the immediate needs of foster children and foster parents in our region. We also aim to inspire other communities to establish similar efforts. Through the ongoing generosity of supporters, Bridge continues to advance its mission and vision by providing meaningful aid to those in need.
