Our Story

Hear more about Bridge Foster Ministry.

Past.

Bridge Foster Ministry was incorporated in the winter of 2020 with community support from local pastors Stephen Bradley and wife Beth Bradley, Isaac Hopkins, and Tara Pish as board members. Pitt County Department of Social Services and community partners in our area were instrumental in helping Bridge form to help foster children.

Founder Jennifer Teague, with her husband Lee Teague, were inspired by a “Love Luggage” presentation at a Liberty University Convocation by a similar ministry begun through the Unclaimed Baggage Center in Georgia. Waymaker Church and their Mosaic Ministry in Lynchburg, Virginia, also helped shape the vision for Bridge.

With amazing like-minded people in our community, Bridge donated the first backpacks to DSS in June of 2020.

Present.

Make Bridge Foster Ministries a link between the children DSS must remove from their home/foster home and the new foster home by providing a backpack with Bridge logo for children placed into foster care from infancy until 18 years of age. Backpacks to include age appropriate toiletries, tee shirt/knit shorts, a “comfort” blanket, Bible/children’s bible book, and a nametag that each child can personalize as their own.

Future.

Bridge is a Pitt County local response to meet the immediate needs of foster children in our area. Community members have already given a positive response to this initiative…and the numbers are growing every week!
